What is Apptio University?
Technology Business Management (TBM) is emerging as a critical new discipline that is fundamentally changing the way IT is run and aligned to the business. But for an organization to find real success with their TBM initiative, it's essential that the individuals tasked with deploying it possess a thorough understanding of its broad capabilities – and how to extend those benefits across their entire company.
With this objective in mind, we have created Apptio University, a unique, interdisciplinary series of coursework designed to train IT and IT finance practitioners on the fundamentals of TBM and provide hands-on training on Apptio solutions.
Apptio University Curriculum
Apptio University is currently comprised of more than 20 individual classes. Classes are offered in a variety of formats, including traditional classroom training, computer-based training, and pre-recorded video seminars. The curriculum is designed with the busy IT professional’s schedule in mind – courses can be completed at their convenience and all completed coursework qualifies for professional continuing education credits.

Identifying Your TBM Analyst
To derive the greatest value from your Apptio investment, it’s important to identify internal resources who can be designated as a power user. Many Apptio customers have defined a specific role for this purpose called the Technology Business Management Analyst or TBMA. We recommend at least one TBMA be identified within each organization.
